About Dana
From Chaos to Calm
As a daughter, mother, grandmother and experienced professional, I know what it’s like to lack confidence, think I wasn’t good enough, and feel I could not achieve my dreams. The harder life became, the harder I worked to try to control it.
With more than30 years of
experience as a parent, educator and social worker, my passion for my work came
out of my own life experiences beginning with being raped and pregnant at
seventeen.
As a single mother raising a bi-racial child in the 1970s, I experienced many
defeats and triumphs. I know how damaging negative emotions, such as
self-judging, a sense of inadequacy, and guilt can influence a life and allow
fear of failure to control it.
Through these experiences, I learned how to heal from anger, resentment
and fear and attract peace, balance, harmony and love in my life. One of my
mottoes is: “Knowledge is to know, wisdom is to do.”
Incorporating knowledge into wisdom took a lot of growth on my part. I showed
those who didn’t believe, that anything is possible. I am grateful for the
experiences that shaped me into the person I am today.
Along the way, I made mistakes and learned to make personal changes to become the parent and person I am really proud to be today.
We often think we’re the only women whose lives look perfect on the outside and yet our lives and families are falling apart.
Maybe you feel there is no one who really understands. No one you can be brutally honest and real with, who knows how hard you’re working to keep it all together.
You want to be truly happy and you know you’re ‘supposed’ to be happy yet you feel like there’s “a hole in your heart.” Maybe you try to calm and balance your life through temporary external means that really don’t work.
Perhaps your relationships are out of control and you don’t know where to look for help.
You long to create peace, balance, harmony and love in your life yet you often find yourself repeating the same behavior with your children that caused you pain as you were growing up. You’d be surprised at how many of “us” are out there. You are not alone.
Women often forget to take care of themselves. It can take a crisis or illness in our lives to get our attention. But there is good news; it is possible to heal your life without drama. Imagine driving to work in the morning or going about your daily activities singing a song of joy and looking forward to the wonderful encounters waiting for you along the way?
My passion is to help you move forward to create a nurturing and loving home, making healthy decisions.
The most important
counseling gifts I bring to clients, families, and audiences are insight and
wisdom gained from my vast and varied life experiences and professional
experience. These gifts give me the ability to see beyond words and actions and
give you those “aha” moments that can transform your life. Humility, compassion
and empathy are some of the greatest assets I offer. I am passionate and
excited about helping you to create the life and family you want.
Because I know you deserve it, this is what I would love to see for
everyone.
“It is never too late to change. You are never too old to improve your life and you can achieve absolutely anything with the right knowledge and actions.”

Today's Quote
"A dysfunctional relationship happens when you ignore, deny and repress any emotion (love or anger). If you will feel, express and release your emotions appropriately (love or anger) you can create a positive experience."
